Six Direction Elbows

Our BP system is very sophisticated and layered in it's approach to developing skill and power.  Each level builds upon the last but can also effectively stand alone as a system in itself.  Level three for example develops a very destructive ging that has a pushing and centrifugal type of force.

The meditations develop the inner force.  The stillness or yin state manifests yang.  Our meditations have special sequences that activate a condition within the body conducive to accumulate, circulate and store energy in a specific way.  Level three develops power that is used for our system of six directional elbow fighting.

There are not many Kung Fu systems that include elbow fighting as a system in itself in this way.  We have a saying that 'Palms beat hands, elbows beat palms'.  As as student progresses the body is developed and changed and the style of the individual begins to manifest.  There is no 'Burning Palm' style.  Burning Palm system unlocks someones potential and once the body is developed the practitioners own style emerges.

The physical aspect of our elbow training not only develop the body to issue power but it has a very healing impact on the spine and body structure.   Predominately it's a close range fighting method but can and has been used by my Sifu long range in real combat.  The flexibility and torque developed are devastating and when combined with the power generated from the nei gong for this level it's a deadly art.  No wonder this was once hidden knowledge.

Write something about yourself. No need to be fancy, just an overview.

I have trained in quite a few different martial arts such as Wing Chun, Jujitsu and some more esoteric ones.  My highest rank in an art was 5th degree black belt.  I'm not here to talk about those systems but it helps to have a little background I guess.  As I got older I got more interested in the esoteric side of things and became interested in magick, sorcery and meditation.  To this day I meditate for hours.  I have become unbalanced and must give more attention to the physical training as Yang develops Yin and Yin develops Yang.

After years of practice and who knows how many initiations I awakened my Kundalini.  It is not fully risen but I have found that once you go so far there is no turning back.  I had a very troubled youth and was caught up in crime, drugs and violence.  I have been involved in things that took me down a dark path.  It's not a good idea to do powerful spiritual work without guidance when your in a dark place as sometimes it can make things a lot worse.

When I met Sifu Gary Hearfield I was in a bad place.  Sifu did not judge me and has been a supportive guide and teacher through possibly some of the worst times in my life.  I consider Sifu Gary as a family member and I feel inside it is my calling to learn from him and I believe we were supposed to meet.

Thank you Sifu for all you have been to me and for the knowledge you have given freely.  I will train and not waste these treasures.

I would like to add a disclaimer that anything I add to this blog is my own opinion and where concerning Burning Palm may not necessarily be accurate or true.  I am not a Sifu in this art myself so it's only right to say that upfront.  Of course my teacher will make corrections if any stand out.
