Here are a few of the daily exercises we do daily to build ging and good health. Struggling a bit today due to the fasting but still did 108 reps of each. In addition we do bag work, rollerbar, qigong and meditation. This is day two of my personal transformation challenge.

Today added 108 FIT to my regular training. More info here; https://warriorbodybuddhamind.wordpress.com/2012/03/24/108fit/ I have also changed my diet and have started intermittent fasting. Intermittent fasting has plenty of benefits and there is a multitude of information about it online. Fasting also has many spiritual and cleansing benefits and I feel it aids me in my training and mediation. I'm aiming for a total body transformation in the next 108 days. I'l post more on the methods I'm training at some point. I'm aiming at around 1,500 - 1,800 calories a day. Today I fasted for 16 hours before I ate my first meal and have had approximately 1,500 calories today. That is a little low for my weight. Here is a video entry I posted to YouTube. Our system is based on on the five elements as in Mahābhūta. Fire, Water, Earth and Air. We adsorb, cultivate and connect to the elements with specific methods of training as shown in the demonstration by Sifu Garry below. On it's own this method cultivates a powerful internal energy and if the form is understood there are many devastating martial applications to the moves. It's a system in itself. My own experience shows that it increases the effectiveness of other energy's in the body. As mentioned in another post, we train our different methods at specific times. Morning, Midday and night. This meditation is no different and is practiced after another meditation that gathers all the elements at once. See if you can guess which element this method connects you too? Our system consists of training that is done a certain times of the day. TCM teaches us that our body's energy has a rhythm and as our Qi/energy flows through our meridians, different organs as described in TCM become more active. Essentially, energy meridians correspond to a specific time period. More on that if there is interest. Day and night themselves are a cycles. Yin and Yang to be precise. To optimize our results and achieve a desired alchemy, we coincide our specific training and methods of cultivation with out own internal rhythm and the rhythm of nature itself. Morning is the beginning of Yang and before our neigong we wake the body up an prepare it with some of the exercises shown by Sifu Garry Hearfield below. I was supposed to start this a few day ago but life happens. That said I will do my best to update on here every day as it is actually a part of training in itself. You may have heard it said "what gets measured gets managed". This is true and if you are not tracking your progress you can never really see your progress.
There are a number of terms or exercises that I may mention that will be covered in other posts. I'm using methods from old style Kung Fu and modern training. Day one I call it day one although it isn't. I am extremely sore as I have started to incorporate weight training into my regime and not adapted yet. Keeping it simple, only compound movements and using 5x5. This morning I did shaking practice and that really helped warm up my muscles and get me ready. I did my arm swings and also and did 15 minutes of HIIT using a kettlebell. I did not do my winds meditation and must admit I haven't for a while. I'd like to get my form perfect. My morning 108 solar nei kung was done with a candle as I can't get to the true sunrise. Could feel my Dantian nicely. Ran out of time to do claw bag and dragon pearl so will have to do when I get home later. Midday training was a little rushed as I start work in the afternoon. I have very limited space to do my 5 shadows on the bag so it really is just a conditioning exercise. I have to train footwork etc in my front room. -- Just finished my night med. Am very tired. Sometimes now when I am meditating it's like I have fallen asleep and then when I come to again and carry on and finish quite a bit of time has passed. Doesn't happen all the time, depends how deep I go. I got to go sleep now. ------ Jan 25th 2015 Haven't updated in a few days but training hard. I'm being careful as I have injured my shoulder in the past and do not want to push too much. Adding weight training has really changed things, still adapting. Each day I am doing three sets of 36 reps of roller bar, claw bag and dragon pearl exercises. I have noticed that I need longer breaks since hitting the gym as well and I am much hungrier than normal. Right now I am cutting as well so my diet is very clean. Just about to do my evening meditation. I have been so tired that I go somewhere else while meditating past couple of weeks. Getting very deep in my meditations. In the next few days I am going to make posts explaining the different Burning Palm exercises for level one. In addition to Burning Palm training, WBBM has different calisthenic workouts and weight training methods. In the past I have completed 108 FIT with great results. I will also post about that soon as well. --- Feb 3rd 2015 Update on last week or so. I have been training daily just one rest day but alternating training type. My strength at the gym has sky rocketed and I'm getting stronger each session. It won't be long before I am back to were I was ten years ago. It's pretty amazing actually. I have dropped some weight but increased lean mass as well. My diet is clean. No cheats and no bad food. I am taking it easy with the dragon pearl and claw bag. Considering doing alternate days and having a rest day in between. I have had injures in the past and I find that the high rep although easy does tax my from delts. I realize the mistake I made a year ago was I over trained and was not taking in nearly enough calories. This is not such an issue if you are optimum weight but for my frame I was way to heavy. Going to concentrate on leaning down around 155/160 pounds (currently nearly 240). Burning Palm is a complete internal system of Chinese/Tibetan fighting, healing and spiritual development. The esoteric system of knowledge originated in Tibet and was passed on to a Taoist Monk called Fung Do Duk who took the system to Ermi Mountain in China. It contains healing methods, fighting methods and connects you with the Tao. The fighting methods include trapping, seizing, grappling, push hands or sensitivity methods and has a similar framework to southern Chinese boxing.
It was originally a nomadic system and uses nature and the elements weaved into the practices. The Burning Palm (not to be confused to 'Imprint Palm' or other palm conditioning and cultivation methods) became the Chinese character for fire "Fo" Fo Jeung. It has been translated to Burning Palm in English due to the sensation caused by the strikes when hit for healing or martial application. There are also signs and results from the training that signify certain levels of development and at this level, the practitioner will understand the reference to 'burning'. Burning Palm is not a method like Iron Palm but a dynamic system or warrior path that frees the mind, body, spirit and unifies them enabling the practitioner to become a healer rather than just having the ability to heal. It connects you to the infinite all that is. |
AuthorI have trained in quite a few different martial arts such as Wing Chun, Jujitsu and some more esoteric ones. My highest rank in an art was 5th degree black belt. I'm not here to talk about those systems but it helps to have a little background I guess. As I got older I got more interested in the esoteric side of things and became interested in magick, sorcery and meditation. To this day I meditate for hours. I have become unbalanced and must give more attention to the physical training as Yang develops Yin and Yin develops Yang. Archives
